Poly

The concept of this was inspired by the cursor synth in “The Game of Life” - it turned the cursor/mouse into an expressive instrument rather than a tool for interacting with a computer. Each line’s duration is calculated with it’s length and the current rate. The duration is then scaled and mapped to the parameters of an envelope - which then triggers on every repeat.

I have plans to add extra “voices” to the game. There will be different coloured paint brushes to choose from - each will have their own unique sound. For example blue could be quite an ambient pad, green could be a more percussive sound, and yellow could be a bass.

There are still some bugs to be fixed - I’m still trying to figure out a good system to have the sound + animations stay in sync after the rate slider has been moved. Currently it triggers all the notes to start at the same time whenever the slider is moved. It might be a matter of just having the playhead animation restart when the slider is moved but I’m going to keep that as a backup for now.
